Laboratory Technical Supervisor for Shell Refining Company

Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad (3926-U), was formed in 1960 and is listed on Bursa Malaysia with 49% public shareholding. It owns and operates the state-of-the-art Port Dickson Refinery and is the key supplier of oil products to various Shell businesses in Malaysia.

Laboratory Technical Supervisor

Responsibilities:
• Adheres and conforms to test methods and procedures;
• Carries out checks/calibrations/validation of test equipment;
• Performs equipment set-up, trouble-shooting, calibration and standardization of chemical reagents when required under the supervision of the Head of Lab;
• Shall abides by activities required in the Lab HSE plan;
• Carries out Lab Unsafe Act Audit and raise near miss/potential incident report;
• Trains junior analysts for acquirement of necessary skills.

Requirements:
• Minimum - GCE O Level with Credit in Chemistry of Diploma in Chemistry; Familiar with basic Mathematic;
• Minimum 2 years experience working in Chemical or Petroleum Lab;
• Good knowledge of test methods and lab procedures/skill;
• Perform calibration and standardization/knowledge;
• Trouble shooting product quality issues/knowledge;
• Waste management/skill;
• ISO 17025 & ISO 9001 requirements/knowldege/awareness;
• Purchasing and chemical inventory management/knowledge;
• Work as part of a team to meet tight and sometimes changing deadlines/skills;
• Customer service focus/skills;
• Familiar with basic computer requirements;
• Excellent communication/skills.
